Getting Started: When you launch the program look in the upper right-hand corner for the dialogue bubble that says “Start Here.” Select a closet, garage, or elect to draw a custom room. When selecting a preconfigured reach-in closet, walk-in closet, or garage, use the input boxes to customize the dimensions that fit your needs.
Specifying Dimensions: Clicking any of the three buttons above (Reach-In, Walk-In, or Garage) opens a dialogue box. On the right side of the dialogue box, you have the option to manually enter the dimensions of your choice for the walls, or you can simply accept the default dimensions by clicking “OK.”
After clicking on walls to get started, you have 2 options:
1) In the lower right corner options window, manually enter the desired length, height, and thickness of the first wall, then click on your desired starting point in the work area. Move you cursor in the desired angle or direction you want the wall to go, and a second click places the wall.
2) Instead of manually entering the length, start by clicking on the desired starting point in your work area. Move your cursor where you want the wall to end (the length will appear next to the wall, and change as you move the cursor), and click again to complete the wall.
Drawing Walls: Sticky Walls: Continue drawing additional walls until you have created the room you want. Walls are “sticky” and will continue from the last completed wall or corner unless you right click, click on the walls button, close the options window, click another icon button, or navigate to another menu.
1) Clicking on the Design Tab at any time will bring you back to the Home menu.
2) The menu title bars just below the Design, View, and Parts List tabs gives you quick access to any of the previous menus, or Home.
Adding Products: From the Home menu, under “Step 2: Add Products,” simply click on the desired catalog button. For this example we will use the generic LiveStorage catalog (catalog availability based on licensing and authorization). Once inside the Generic Products menu, click on the Closet icon. Now you will see a variety of closet components to place in your room. Again, you are guided by the program with steps to place products in the necessary, correct order.
Before placing items in your design, be sure to select the wall you wish to place products on in the Select Wall window at the bottom of your screen. The selected wall will appear in yellow, and an arrow indicates which side of the wall you are adding products to.
For this example, we will click on the Upright icon to place a partition on the wall. Clicking on the icon opens an options window at the bottom of the menu, where you can specify the height, depth, and drill side for the partition.
When placing the partition on the wall elevation shown in your work area, the measurement shown in red indicates an accurate placement measurement for the item, and will snap to the most common spacing. The grey measurement is simply to show the distance on the other (non-snapping) side of your item. To reverse which side the red snap measurement is on, simply press the space bar (as mentioned in the status bar at the bottom of your screen).
Place partitions in the desired locations, and then begin adding towers, shelves, rods, and more. The options window will appear at the bottom of the screen whenever you click on an item that can be changed before placement.
For our example, we will place a tower in the design. Click on the Tower icon, and in the options window at the bottom, click on the Style button to show the expanded selection of tower style options.
Snap: When a tower style is selected, move your cursor to the work area. Anywhere the tower can be placed (based on the spacing of partitions), it will snap to that location and appear blue. If a tower will not fit correctly between 2 partitions due to the components within the tower, and spacing of partitions, the tower will not snap into place, and will not turn blue.
If placing a tower will replace another item in the design, that item will appear red, and will disappear from the design when the tower is placed.
Adding drawers, doors, shelves, baskets, accessories and more: Explore submenus within the closet catalog to add a variety of items, including drawers, doors, shelves, baskets, accessories, and more. To edit any items you have added to a wall, simply click on the item in your work area. The selected item will appear yellow, and you will be presented with arrows to move or stretch the item, and an ‘x’ option to delete that item.
In this example, you can stretch the door height up or down by clicking and dragging the up/down arrows at the top or bottom. You can move the doors to a different location in your design by clicking and dragging on the four-way arrows in the center. You can delete the doors from your design by clicking the ‘x’ button to the right.
Elevation View Change: In this example, you can stretch the door height up or down by clicking and dragging the up/down arrows at the top or bottom. You can move the doors to a different location in your design by clicking and dragging on the four-way arrows in the center. You can delete the doors from your design by clicking the ‘x’ button to the right.
Edit Freestanding Items: To edit a freestanding item, you must be in the freestanding menu. Then you can click on the item in the overhead view, and it appears in yellow, with various editing options.
Freestanding items include an edit option to rotate the item, as well as to move or delete the item.
Adding Props: Once you have finished placing towers, components, and accessories to your desired completion, you can also add props to the design, such as hanging clothes and furniture. This can help your customers visualize the space and scale while providing an attractive presentation.
Under the Home menu, you will find icon buttons for Freestanding Props and Wall Attached Props. These can be added to your design in the same methods as outlined above. Freestanding props are placed from an overhead view, and can be placed anywhere in the work area. Wall-attached props are placed in elevation views. Hanging clothes will snap to closet rods, and washing machines will attach to the wall.
Adding Rooms: Additional rooms can be added to one project by clicking the Add a Room button in the toolbar, or by selecting Add a Room from the “Room” pull down menu. Each room will be numbered, and identified by tabs just above the work area. You may change the room numbers to names of your choice through the Edit Room feature. The currently selected room tab is highlighted in white. Simply clicking on any room tab makes that room current in your work area. You can have up to 12 rooms in one project.
